Antibacterial Solution
A 2% chlorhexidrine gluconate solution that is used to clean and disinfect before many dental procedures such as bonding. This greatly reduces the potential for post-operative sensitivity caused by residual bacteria.
Applications
- Use prior to crown cementation or luting and prior to direct restorative placement to minimize post-op sensitivity
- Recommended for procedural endodontic disinfection
- May be used on or near pulp and small exposure non-hyperemic areas before pulp capping as a passive hemostatic agent
- Use to disinfect root surface prior to sensitive root treatment or when bonding
- Use with prophy cup to remove residual temporary cement and disinfect in one step
